Cost FAQ's
Q: What's the catch? I know I can't get something for nothing, so there must be a catch!
A: This is a very good question. And the answer is simple:
By selecting a new provider, all you are doing is receiving the benefit of lower prices that your company is entiltled to have.
Much like what happened when the telecommunications industry was deregulated, deregulation of the energy industry has allowed competition among providers. This competition ensures that customers are paying a fair price for their energy. If you are still paying the regulated provider for your energy, it is very likely that you are overpaying currently.
Your regulated provider knows that it is not easy to switch and therefore, they do not have a great incentive to lower their prices.
Q: How much does it cost?
A: This is the best part! The savings that we quote you for your new service are net of our fee. You do not pay TLV Energy, we are compensated by your new service provider.
They pay us the equivalent of the sales commission that they would have to pay their own sales force for bringing new customers to them.
But you get the added benefit of an independent sales rep who will evaluate all of the choices and help you select the best deal for you depending on the agreement terms that are most important to you.
Q: Why can't I call another provider directly and switch my company to them?
A: You can.
However, if you go it alone, this means that you have to do all of the research including determining:
which companies to call,
And after all that, the best case scenario is that you would end up with the same agreement that we can negotiate for you, but you would spend countless hours of your own time and energy going through this process.
Why take time away from running your business when you can pay exactly the same price or even a lower price with TLV Energy handling all of the details for you?
Agreement FAQ's
Q: What if I'm thinking of selling my company during the term of the agreement?
A: The TLV Energy methodology was designed to ensure that our customers are completely satisfied with the entire process. One of the first steps in our process is to discuss your preferred business requirements with you.
This business requirements analysis helps us ensure that we structure an agreement that meets your individual needs, as we understand that pricing is only one consideration in the process. Whether you are considering selling your business, or just want to ensure that you have the flexibility to assign your agreement to another subsidiary, we will help you select the supplier that will meet those requirements.
Q: What are some of the benefits of switching energy providers?
A: There are many benefits to switching to a new energy provider including:
1. TLV Energy will negotiate a contract for you that fits your company's needs
2. Other providers can give you flexibility in their pricing structures
3. Prices can be significantly lower than the regulated pricing
4. Regardless of which provider you choose, your service will continue to be delivered safely and reliably by the local wires company, a company still regulated by the PUC.
Reliability FAQ's
Q: If I switch providers, will the reliability of my service change?
A: No.
No matter which Retail Electric Provider you choose, your electricity will continue to be delivered safely and reliably by the local wires company, a company still regulated by the PUC.
Q: What is deregulation and why do I care?
A: You can now choose to buy your electricity from a different electric provider than the original provider for your area. These companies are called Retail Electric Providers.
Competition in other industries has often brought lower prices and innovative, new products and services. Having more control over your buying decision should make it easier to determine what matters most to you, whether it’s prices, renewable energy, customer service, or other important agreement terms.
Q: Why can't I just call my regulated provider and get them to lower my price?
A: You can call your regulated provider and get new pricing. However, this is no different than switching to a totally new provider, as you will still have to sign a retail contract just like with other providers and will receive absolutely no different level of service for selecting your regulated company's retail provider.
In fact, we recently tested the regulated provider pricing compared with other providers and found the pricing for the new deal with the regulated provider to still be 20% higher than our recommended provider's pricing.
